Department of Information Technology was started in 2006, offering B. Tech. (IT) programme under the affiliation of Anna University Chennai. Since 2008 it’s affiliated under Anna University Tirunelveli. The department offers four-year full-time B.Tech program, which is committed towards imparting quality education to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Information Technology. Currently, the department has a committed faculty of 10 whose interests span almost all areas of Information Technology. The department offers an excellent atmosphere for students to learn and acquire the necessary innovative skills required by the industry. The students have access to well equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories. The department constantly modernizes its infrastructure facilities to keep abreast with the rapidly changing technological trends in the field.

The department admits about 60 students every year in the B.Tech. Program. The degree awarded is B.Tech in Information Technology.
